Our personal electric epilators have special needs too. If an epilator is only taken care of properly, it can definitely last for a few years of use.
These tools are one of the essentials in our bathroom, if you could only visit our place. As busy women, we would love to maintain a flawless skin without consuming much of our time.
Epilators are the most efficient tools in keeping our skin looking gorgeous and flawless all the time. Based on our experience, epilators have been our helpful partners. Keeping one takes extra efforts to make it last and work for a longer period of time.
We’re sharing the tips on how you can keep your epilators “healthy” all the time. Trust us on this, since we’ve been doing exactly the same thing with our adorable epilators.
Most epilators on the market, if not all have a cleaning kit in the package. They usually come up with a small brush and are used to eliminate the stranded hairs in the equipment. If yours doesn’t come with one, you can always use small paint or artist brush.
Gently sweep off the stuck hairs with the tweezers using the brush.
Are you familiar with gas dusters? These are placed in a can with a small straw included in the package. You can ultimately get rid of the hairs with the tweezers by using the small straw. You only have to point it directly into the area and spray a small amount of it, gradually.
It will make the cleaning process easier and a lot faster. It’s not just intended for the epilators, but for other tools in the house that needs delicate cleaning. You can purchase it at any hardware stores.
Before moving on to this step, allow us to remind you that the epilator should be totally free from stuck hairs. Double check and proceed.
Once you are done, grab a cotton ball. Use a cotton ball that’s not too small and something that will just fit the size of the epilator head. Secure yourself an alcohol and damp the cotton with enough amount of alcohol.
Gently wipe the moistened cotton into the tweezers. Rotate the different tweezers on any side to make sure that all of the sides are being cleaned up.
By the way, if your tool is waterproof, you can also submerge it directly into the water. You can also wash it using the head. But, this is the head of the epilator we’re talking about and not the entire body of the equipment.
Some epilators are only water resistant and can only tolerate a few minutes or distance of submerging in the water. Waterproof epilators on the other hand, can stay in the water for long without getting damaged or broken.
Let the epilator dry and make sure that there is no single trace of wetness in the tweezers. We’re talking about electric epilators here and we have to make sure that it’s waterproof or water resistant.
A hair blow dryer can be of very great help in drying the tool much faster.
Once it’s completely dry, you can return the cap in the head again. The cap is the cover that will keep the epilator from any dirt and dusts. It will keep the tool clean until the time that you’re going to use it again.
You can also start reinstalling anything else that you had to remove prior to cleaning the epilator.
Furthermore, you have to keep the body or the handle of the operator clean at all times too. Wipe any dirt that sticks into the panel and keep it in a clean closet. It’s also best to keep it away from kids especially if its battery operated.
It might hurt, irritate or wound the children’s skin once they play around with it.
A Final Note
These are the only simple steps to keep epilators clean and working properly, as it should be. We also need to consider that it’s a hygienic practice if we keep our hair removal tools clean all the time. After all, it’s our skin that will fully benefit from it.
